Vuzix Kacamata Android jadi Penantang Google Glass

Google Glass merupakan perangkat kacamata pintar yang diperkenalkan Google. Meski demikian, kini Google mendapat pesaing baru yang bernama Vuzix. Namun saat ini Vuzix yang menggunakan sistem operasi Android telah lebih dulu hadir dipasaran.
Sama seperti Google Glass, kacamata pinta yang diberi nama Vuzix M100 ini mengandalkan sistem operasi garapan Google. Hanya saja, versi Android yang digunakan masih mengandalkan versi 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich yang cukup ketinggalan jaman.
Dilansir Tom Hardware, namun untuk urusan spesifikasi Vuzix M100 terbilang lumayan karena mengandalkan prosesor dual-core garapan TI-OMAP 4430 dengan kecepatan clock 1 GHz yang dipadukan dengan RAM 1 GB.
Beralih ke bagian pandangan layar, kacamata ini memancarkan proyeksi tampilan dengan lebar diagonal 15 derajat. Dengan konfigurasi tersebut, proyeksi pada layarnya pun dikatakan setara dengan tampilan layar 4 inch pada sebuah ponsel.
Untuk penyimpanan, perangkat ini menawarkan kapasitas internal 1 GB yang dapat ditingkatkan menjadi 32 GB melalu slot micro SD. Sedangkan untuk fasilitas fotografi, perangkat ini menggunakan kamera 5 megapiksel.
Bagi peminatnya, kacamata pintar ini sudah bisa dibeli secara pre-order dengan banderol US$ 1.000. Pemesannya juga tak perlu lama-lama menunggu karena Vuzix M100 diperkirakan sudah sampai ke tangan pengguna sekitar pertengahan Desember ini.
“Kami sangat senang bisa memulai pengiriman kacamata pintar M100. Era wearable gadget telah menanti dan kami percaya Vuzix telah menawarkan teknologi paling inovatif dibanding produsen kacamata pintar lainnya,” tutur Paul Travers, Presiden dan CEO Vuzix.
Sementara itu, untuk urusan ekosistem aplikasi pun sepertinya penggunanya tak perlu kuatir. Karena layaknya Google Glass, Vuzix M100 juga telah lebih dulu disebar ke para pengembang aplikasi guna menghadirkan ekosistem produk yang baik bagi penggunanya.

Polisi Akhirnya Ungkap Penyebab Resmi Kematian Paul Walker

Kantor polisi Los Angeles telah menemukan penyebab resmi kematian Paul Walker dan Roger Rodas pada Sabtu, 30 November lalu di California.
Setelah melakukan otopsi kepada kedua jenazah, kantor polisi mengkonfirmasi pada Rabu (4/13) kalau Roger (38) meninggal karena beberapa luka traumatis. Sementara itu, Paul (40) meninggal karena efek gabungan dari luka traumatis dan termal.
Kematian keduanya dipastikan terjadi secara tidak sengaja. Hasil tes toksikologi masih tertunda dan bisa memakan waktu hingga beberapa minggu.
Setelah menghadiri acara amal Reach Out WorldWide pada Sabtu (30/11), Paul dan Roger pergi untuk berkendara dengan menggunakan mobil Porsche Carrera GT. Kendaraan mereka menghantam sebuah tiang listrik, dua pohon, dan tanda batas kecepatan. Saat polisi tiba tempat kejadian di Santa Clarita, California, deputi menemukan kendaraan itu telah dilalap api.
Rangkaian acara pemakaman untuk aktor Fast & Furious 6 dan juga rekan bisnisnya ini belum diumumkan. Seorang sumber mengatakan kalau Tyrese Gibson, teman dekat Paul, telah membantu keluarga Paul dan Roger terkait dengan rencana pemakaman keduanya.
Paul sedang berada di tengah-tengah proses syuting film ke-7 Fast & Furious saat kematiannya. “Saat ini, kita semua di Universal berdedikasi untuk memberikan dukungan untuk keluarga dekat Paul dan keluarga besar Fast & Furious, mulai dari pemain, kru, dan juga pembuat film,” ujar Universal kepada E! News dalam sebuah pernyataan pada Rabu (4/12).
“Saat ini kami merasa bahwa ini adalah tanggung jawab kami untuk menutup produksi Fast & Furious 7 untuk sementara waktu supaya kami semua bisa menilai semua pilihan yang tersedia untuk bergerak maju dengan film franchise ini.”
Pernyataan itu melanjutkan, “Kami berkomitmen untuk tetap memberi informasi pada penggemar Fast & Furious, dan kami akan memberikan informasi lebih lanjut kepada mereka ketika kami telah memilikinya. Sampai saat itu, kami tahu mereka akan bergabung dengan kami dalam berkabung atas meninggalnya teman kami tercinta Paul Walker.” #RIPPaulWalker

Aktor Paul Walker, paling dikenal untuk perannya dalam film The Fast and Furious, meninggal dalam kecelakaan mobil di utara Los Angeles Sabtu sore.
New Regency Productions, sebuah studio film yang mendistribusikan melalui Twentieth Century Fox, mengkonfirmasi kematian aktor dalam tweet.

Menurut sebuah posting di halaman Facebook Walker, dia adalah seorang penumpang di mobil teman pada saat kecelakaan, yang terjadi saat ia menghadiri sebuah acara amal untuk organization Reach Out Worldwide.
